Position Summary
Holdenville General Hospital is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Purchasing Manager
to oversee all procurement and supply chain activities. The ideal candidate will ensure that all hospital departments have timely access to the materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to provide exceptional patient care-while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all purchasing activities for the hospital, including ordering medical and non-medical supplies, equipment, and services.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Review and approve purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers and service providers.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with department leaders to anticipate supply needs.
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records within the hospital's materials management system.
Collaborate with Finance and Administration on budgeting, invoice approvals, and cost-control initiatives.
Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Lead and train purchasing staff and/or act as a department of one.
Participate in performance improvement and cost-reduction projects across hospital departments.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of
3 years of purchasing or materials management experience , preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of medical supplies, hospital procurement processes, and vendor management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing/inventory software systems.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must be able to pass a background check and complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
