About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading international financial institution and top 20 syndicated lending bank, is seeking an exceptional Executive Director to lead their Loan Administration Unit. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to oversee a high-performing loans team across multiple locations, onshore and offshore of approx. 60 staff.

The Role

As the Loan Administration Unit Head, you will oversee all loan transactions, staffing, projects, and deliverables across Agency, Bilateral, and Syndicated Loan portfolios. This is a critical position requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities Include:

Ensuring accurate and timely loan transaction servicing across all portfolios

Overseeing the review of loan documentation relating to opening, servicing, and closing of all loan transactions

Delivering and maintaining clear and updated lending policies and procedures

Enforcing strong controls to ensure data quality and efficiency of all transactions

Providing strong leadership, training, and communication within the team to motivate and retain staff

Leading effective communication with key stakeholders across Front Office, Technology, Finance, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, and Audit

Delivering top-tier customer service to all external and internal clients

Maintaining and promoting an efficient and scalable operating model aligned with industry best practices

Key Duties and Responsibilities Transaction Management

Credit Agreement review and booking

Initial Loan Drawdown, including funding and settlement

Loan Rollovers and Interest payments

Loan Repayments and Fee Management

Commitment and Credit Application Limit Management

Communication with Borrowers, Lenders, and Agent Banks

Invoicing and Notices related to all loan activities

Loan System booking, controls, and reconciliation

Exception and control report monitoring

Leadership & Governance

Effectively manage all audits and close required audit and risk issues in a timely manner

Provide leadership for all team projects and ensure timely completion

Direct and manage ACBS to Loan IQ conversion and migration processes

Uphold professionalism, quality, and efficiency standards

Implement and monitor internal controls to minimize operational risk

Oversee staff training and development programs, including performance management and career progression

Execute business plans and ensure delivery of key objectives

Strategic Operations

Build and maintain productive relationships with external and internal stakeholders

Conduct comprehensive reviews of workflows, procedures, and systems to promote effectiveness and risk mitigation

Maintain robust information and data quality controls

Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and technological advancements

Ensure adequate staffing and cross-training to prevent service disruptions

Review and approve all business resiliency plans

10+ years

of experience in syndicated loan operations and team management

Degree

(Bachelor's level or equivalent)

Hands‑on experience with loan operating systems including

ACBS

and

LoanIQ

is preferable

Strong syndicated loans industry knowledge

Excellent communication and writing abilities

Proven organizational and leadership skills

Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and elevate emerging risks
