Job Summary The Indiana Production Facility (IPF) is Acuity Brands’ largest manufacturing site in the USA, located in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The facility offers a clean, well‑lit, and safe environment, with access to nearby parks and recreational areas.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) The Manufacturing Engineer performs a variety of mechanical and electrical engineering work, planning and designing products, tools, machines, and manufacturing processes. The role collaborates with other engineering disciplines to develop new products and increase production quality and efficiency.

Collect and review production data from production cells to ensure implemented process improvements are sustained.

Identify and support production quality processes and procedures to increase throughput and eliminate customer impact.

Participate, lead, and facilitate Kaizen events to improve internal LEAN manufacturing (ABS) processes.

Train production operators on lean principles and manufacturing processes.

Design Lean Cells.

Work with cross‑functional teams in the planning and design of new products to ensure manufacturability.

Research and review industry trends and technological advancements for products and processes.

Experience (minimum experience required)

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology.

1–5 years of manufacturing experience is a plus.

Experience and foundational knowledge of Lean Principles, Lean Cell Design, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge of engineering concepts and principles (Design for Manufacturability, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design/Process Control Methods).

Proficient computer and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements

Medium work.

1–20 % travel.
