FlexStaff is hiring a full‑time 2nd shift Sanitation Supervisor to join our client’s team in Secaucus, New Jersey. The role supports the Sanitation Manager and various members of the Production Department.

Must have knowledge and experience with HACCP, AIB, SQF or BRCGS standards, chemical handling and environmental testing preferred.

Base pay range $65,000.00/yr – $73,000.00/yr

Shift 2nd shift: 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (occasional weekends as needed)

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the training and performance of assigned staff; implement job‑related training to eliminate food safety risks; coach, mentor, motivate and supervise direct reports to maximize operational success.

Continuously verify/validate sanitation effectiveness and propose better ways to clean/sanitize, maximizing results and minimizing cost.

Update sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) and recommend adjustments to schedules, procedures, sanitation practices to the Sanitation Manager for review.

Follow up on the Sanitation Master Schedule, ensuring all activities are completed according to the assigned frequency and maintaining daily reports archive.

Implement and report corrective actions for sanitation violations cited in internal monthly inspections and pre‑operational reports.

Perform monthly inventory of sanitation supplies.

Follow up pest control observations and conduct internal pest‑control walkthroughs, keeping records.

Verify equipment cleaning and perform ATP, AllerSnap and Gluten ToxPro tests when needed, keeping records/files up to date.

Inspect machinery parts to ensure no damage or broken parts that might cause a food safety issue.

Experience with BRC or other GFSI schemes; oversee and assist preparation for BRCSG audits, working with the Sanitation Manager to maintain compliance and keep the facility inspection‑ready.

Communicate with other departments about work schedule and expectations.

Conduct safety, sanitation and GMP compliance inspections; maintain sanitation schedule and required daily documentation.

Supervise 2nd shift crew; responsible for closing the building and conducting daily walkthroughs to ensure proper security of entry access.

Enforce visitor policy; ensure the Visitor Register Book is fully completed and times signed.

Promote safety in the workplace; support and enforce the facility’s safety program and regulatory compliance.

Conduct LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures daily and train affected employees accordingly.

Knowledge and Skills The position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional written and verbal communication, and strong attention to detail. The candidate must be well organized, sensitive to handling confidential information, self‑driven and capable of effectively managing multiple tasks.

Education and Experience Associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, business or chemistry and 2 to 5 years of experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills. Knowledge of HACCP, AIB, SQF or BRCGS standards, chemical handling and environmental testing preferred.
