Job Summary The Staff Accountant is a key member of the accounting department who is responsible for ethically performing tasks that are in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies. These tasks include, in part, maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger, and preparing managerial and financial reports. The Staff Accountant contributes to the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual closings of the corporate general ledger. The Staff Accountant will also respond to accounting questions and communicate the responses to other functional areas of the organization. This opportunity represents Shoppa’s Material Handling and requires professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, great attitude, and outstanding support to other departments.

Essential Functions

Participate in all aspects of the month end close process, including preparation of adjusting journal entries and accrual entries.

Reconcile all-Company cash bank accounts, including depository, main concentration, and disbursement accounts monthly.

Prepare account analysis and reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.

Prepare and distribute reports and provide analysis/support as needed on a monthly basis.

Assist with annual audit requests.

Complete ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or finance required, Masters preferably.

Minimum of two years’ experience in general or tax accounting.

Understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles.

A proven track record in meeting deadlines and working collaboratively as part of a team is essential.

Proficient in SAP, MS Navision, MS Office Suite (Advance in Excel).

Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form.

They may occasionally stand, walk, or lift up to 30 pounds, like files or office supplies. The work environment is climate-controlled with moderate noise.
