About Beaumont With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. Those who live and work in Beaumont will find a close‑knit community with friendly people and opportunities to explore the area at its many restaurants and businesses, as well as numerous museums and nature parks. Built along the banks of the Neches River in 1903, the original ExxonMobil Beaumont refining facilities have grown into an integrated petrochemical complex on 2,700 acres and have contributed to the economic and social landscape of southeast Texas. What role you will play in our team Our Advanced Manufacturing Engineers play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plant and are responsible for supporting day‑to‑day operations while implementing improvements in safety, reliability, and quality. You will work in a collaborative, cross‑functional team, providing process technical expertise and leadership to solve complex technical problems and ensure reliable production of polyethylene to meet the world's growing needs.
What you will do
Provide day‑to‑day run plan support and troubleshooting, in close connection with Operations and Supply Chain
Provide off‑hours support for abnormal and non‑routine operations, including unit outages and turnarounds
Provide unit optimization guidance, in collaboration with Technical Center analysis and recommendations
Participate in Quality investigations in response to Customer feedback and off‑spec events
Initiate and progress improvements through Management of Change Process
Lead and/or participate in incident investigations, including identification and completion of follow‑up actions
Participate in outages and turnarounds, providing technical guidance and recommendations
Participate in Risk Assessments and HAZOPs
Initiate and develop low complexity projects
Participate in product trials, in close collaboration with Technology engineers
Participate in Technology networks, sharing and capturing learnings from plants across the globe
About You Skills and Qualifications
B.S. Chemical Engineering
3+ years of chemical manufacturing plant experience
Process Monitoring & Optimization
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting
Incident Investigation & Analysis
Data Visualization
Fundamentals of Safety & Risk
Key behavioral skills - Adapts, Analytical, Applies Learning, Communicates Effectively, Shows Initiative
Qualifications / Experience
Polyolefins, specifically Gas Phase and/or High Pressure Polyethylene
