Sr. Electrical Engineer Location: Tulsa, OK Description The Senior Electrical Engineer position is for a licensed professional with multiple areas of technical expertise. This role supports projects through bidding, performance, checking, and production/quality management duties related to medium and low voltage power distribution in industrial facilities. The Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with the project teams throughout the design, engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

Accountabilities:

Uphold the Select Engineering Core Values: Integrity, Honesty, Teamwork, and Quality

Serve as Electrical Engineer of Record for medium and large industrial facility EPC projects, including technical direction and sealing of electrical design documents and studies

Perform thorough and professional engineering duties, including consultation, engineering design, equipment selection, coordination, safety review, planning, and checking

Provide leadership to promote and develop team members’ abilities

Regularly lead, audit, and provide direction to project teams, including supervisory responsibilities when needed

Work directly with clients to develop and execute projects

Develop proposals for new projects

Provide written project progress reports for clients and management as appropriate

Manage tasks as assigned by the Director of Electrical Engineering

Behaviors, Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:

Strong people and organizational skills for leadership, mentoring, and department organization

Self-starter with the ability to perform under minimal supervision

Ability to manage and review multiple projects independently

Strong understanding of Medium and Low Voltage power distribution in industrial facilities

Ability to provide technical direction to both technical and non-technical coworkers and subcontractors

Capable of interacting directly with clients and managing stakeholder relations

Ability to make independent, significant decisions on projects

Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of project deliverables

Direct and guide teams to complete projects on time and within budget

Experience with SKM or ETAP modeling software (strongly )

Power company negotiation skills (a strong plus)

Extensive knowledge of low and medium voltage three-phase motor control equipment, including reduced voltage and variable frequency drives

Recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple areas

Experience in oil and gas treatment and processing (strong plus)

Proficient in MS Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to maintain confidentiality as required

Must be a strong teacher and mentor

Experience/Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) license required (multiple state licenses )

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as an engineer

Operational Requirements:

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with teams and clients

Willingness to travel 10-20% of the time

Commitment to safety-first practices

Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods in an office environment

Willingness to visit refineries, chemical plants, drilling platforms, manufacturing plants, gas processing plants, and pipelines during construction and operation phases

Capability to climb ladders and stairs to access process towers and equipment

Valid driver's license for passenger cars and light trucks

Ability to drive a car or light truck

Proficiency in operating a cell phone

Ability to walk at least 1⁄2 mile across uneven terrain

Capability to carry at least 20 pounds for 1⁄4 mile

Strong English comprehension and communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to create clear, accurate, and professional documents and emails

Willingness to work nine (9) hours per day or longer as needed

Ability to work in hazardous industrial environments such as refineries, chemical plants, and gas processing facilities

Ability to navigate unfamiliar locations, including the use of hotels, restaurants, public transportation, and rental vehicles as required for work travel
