Electrical Engineer – Therakos Healthcare Limited
The Electrical Engineer will provide hands‑on engineering support for Therakos’ combination product systems, focusing on electrical, electromechanical, and embedded software aspects of the CELLEX® Instrument. The role is responsible for troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure reliability, compliance, and manufacturability of electrical systems. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturers to resolve technical issues and support lifecycle management of products.
Skills Strong understanding of electrical circuits, PCB design, embedded systems, sensors, electromechanical integration, and test method development. Basic knowledge of embedded software or firmware (C, C++), validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), root cause analysis, Lean Six Sigma problem‑solving, and regulatory compliance (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA QSR). Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience 3+ years with hands‑on experience in electrical system design, troubleshooting, or sustaining support.
Preferred
Prior experience with medical device or combination product engineering and direct exposure to CMOs.
Knowledge of embedded programming languages such as C, C++.
Education A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering (electrical focus), or related discipline is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
Travel This position requires 25%-30% travel to locations in the US, Ireland, and UK.
Responsibilities
Provide sustaining engineering support for electrical and electromechanical systems, including embedded software/firmware aspects of CELLEX® devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in production, validation, and field support.
Support design changes, component obsolescence management, and lifecycle activities.
Partner with CMOs and suppliers to ensure robust and compliant execution of electrical processes.
Apply Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement principles to enhance reliability, yield, and cost performance.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, validation protocols, and reports.
Ensure compliance with IEC 60601, FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable standards.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to address technical challenges and maintain uninterrupted product supply.
