We are hiring a Lead Optical Field Engineer based in Dallas!
This position is onsite with 75% travel.

Responsibilities
Act as deployment Lead for optics networks
Perform as implementation lead during network installations across the US
DWDM and IP/MPLS networks for hyperscale, utility and service providers
Work with the PM team to generate efficient plans for network deployments
Demonstrate advanced proficiency, execute, and instruct junior staff in the following tasks:
Site Surveys
Fiber Optic Characterization (FOC)
To Telcordia GR-1275 standards (CO standards) and Vendor specific requirements
To LRT/Customer labeling and installation standards
Equipment Integration
Knowledge of provisioning on multiple optical platforms such as Ciena 6500/R, WaveServer, Nokia 1830, and Nokia XTM/GX
Network Test & Turn‑up
Knowledge of troubleshooting and testing optical networks for long haul, metro, and regional architectures
Ensure safety and quality
Promote and teach safety first mentality
Lead from the front on quality and quality assurance
Proactively identify and address potential risks
Execute projects per the Statement of Work, MoPs, and Safety Plans
Required Skills
Reside in the Dallas metro area and expect to report to LightRiver’s Richardson, Texas office to assist with network staging when not deployed to field locations
Have a minimum of 5 years experience in the installation, turn‑up and test of networking equipment.
Be prepared to travel 75% of the time with changes to travel plans occurring regularly on short notice.
Be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
Work well in a cooperative team environment
