Job Description The Lube and Tire Technician, or General Service Tech, is an entry-level automotive technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. On day one you will begin a comprehensive mechanic training program covering all aspects of your new role. As a General Service Technician, you will perform maintenance services on guest vehicles, delivering 5‑Star guest experiences while ensuring safe, reliable transportation.
Compensation The hourly range for this role is $16 - $18 based on experience. This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be determined based on experience level.
Responsibilities
Keyholder duties: supervise the shop while the store manager is absent, run end‑of‑day paperwork and cash handling, and assist the store manager with responsibilities.
Mechanic duties: change, mount, and install tires; remove wheels, repair and balance tires, perform tire patch/plug repairs; conduct quick lube services such as lubrication and oil changes; inspect and rotate tires; perform basic automotive maintenance such as battery installation.
We will train you to perform alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance services.
Minimum Qualifications
HS diploma or GED equivalent.
Automotive experience.
Own or have access to a basic set of mechanic tools, or be willing to purchase tools.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Positive attitude and collaborative mindset.
Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for long periods, and lift 50 lbs.
Qualifications
Automotive technician or lube and tire experience preferred.
