Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
Additional compensation types Commission
Purpose of Position Regional Sales Manager will promote the sale of all Word and Brown General Agency’s products as an outside sales representative. Products will include small and large group benefit lines. Sales will be made to brokers in the assigned territory. This will be accomplished through presentations to brokers in the territory as well as presentations to key industry brokers and small business owners. Will also work with and develop relationships with Carrier partners to increase distribution of products assigned territory.
Essential Functions
Work with Director of Field Sales to develop key sales techniques for broker and client presentations.
Assist brokers with creating presentations to increase sales of Word and Brown General Agency’s products.
Conduct seminars for various broker audiences.
Interface heavily with inside sales representative to enhance team sales effort.
Travel extensively throughout the territory.
Meet with agents and clients daily to obtain business.
Represent Word and Brown at trade shows and Health Underwriter's meetings.
Conduct employer enrollment meetings.
Follow up on broker service calls.
Prepare enrollment kits and perform administrative duties.
Prepare monthly activity reports.
Maintain on-site or remote attendance and punctuality.
Perform additional business tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
2-3 years industry experience in group health insurance sales.
Minimum 2 years experience in small group sales.
Knowledge of small group market competition.
Extremely self-disciplined and able to work with minimal supervision.
Good organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
Success‑driven and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to conduct one‑on‑one, face‑to‑face sales presentations and present to large groups.
Fluent in English.
Working knowledge of carrier portfolio and related products.
Computer literate with excellent telephone communication skills.
Ability to multi‑task under pressure.
Adherence to PHI and HIPAA guidelines.
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
College education preferred.
Active California State – Health and Life Insurance License required.
