AVP & Actuary - Specialized Benefit Resources (SBR) Location: Bridgewater, NJ (preferred)

The Team You Will Join This position reports to the Vice President of Life Products within MetLife's Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) line of business. It is a leadership role in the Specialized Benefit Resources (SBR) group, overseeing product development, underwriting, illustrations, and the in‑force block of business to meet financial targets.

The Opportunity The AVP for SBR will lead the vision and strategy to ensure profitable growth, partner across disciplines (investments, pricing, finance, actuarial, and technical units), and drive new business development. Responsibilities include creating term sheets, negotiating product terms, and establishing market and financial metrics to track performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of 4‑5 direct reports and 8‑10 associates specialized in COLI/BOLI markets.

Develop performance plans, objectives, and provide motivational leadership.

Manage activities and development opportunities while removing barriers to results.

Coach and build a collaborative culture to foster continuous improvement.

Coordinate resources and align goals across functional areas and business partners.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of business experience in finance, actuarial, underwriting, or risk management.

Strong technical expertise in life insurance products and market solutions.

Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.

FINRA registration (Series 6, 7, or 26) required or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Additional Skills

Industry designation such as FSA or ASA, or a graduate degree preferred.

Salary & Benefits Expected salary range: $180 K – $215 K. Eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation and stock‑based long‑term incentives.
