Financial Analyst / Senior Financial Analyst – Dominion Energy

We are looking for Financial Analysts or Senior Financial Analysts to join our Metrics & Data Strategy team in Richmond, VA. The role will be filled at a level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Duties
Develop consolidated financial data, calculations, metrics, and reporting for Dominion Energy Virginia’s (DEV) Finance organization.
Lead project-oriented work with Finance teams to determine targeted data needs, design reporting, and provide technical assistance.
Validate department‑wide data sets and financials against source systems.
Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement and process transparency.
Assist with monthly financial closing processes, regulatory filing submissions, and other Finance functions as needed.
Perform ad hoc analysis and other duties as requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience – Financial Analyst
2–3+ years of directly related experience in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Planning Systems.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of general financial planning and analysis concepts, accounting standards, and relevant utility industry practices.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Team player with a customer‑focus orientation.
Aptitude for continuous learning.
Preferred software skills: Advanced Excel (VBA), Power Query, Power BI or Tableau, Oracle/Access, SQL, SAP, Anaplan, Hyperion, EPBCS, Snowflake, Alteryx.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience – Senior Financial Analyst
5–6+ years of directly related experience in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Planning Systems.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Advanced knowledge of financial management, accounting standards, financial modeling, and scenario analysis.
Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Independently manage multiple tasks and projects.
Utility or relevant industry experience preferred.
Preferred software skills: Advanced Excel (VBA), Power Query, Power BI or Tableau, Oracle/Access, SQL, SAP, Anaplan, Hyperion, EPBCS, Snowflake, Alteryx.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Master’s degree will count as one year of experience; six months of experience will be rounded up to one year.
Working Conditions
Office work environment: 76–100%.
Travel: up to 25%.
