Venue Sales Associate – Chatfield Farms, Denver Botanic Gardens
Position Summary
Denver Botanic Gardens is seeking a full‑time Venue Sales Associate for Chatfield Farms.
The role serves as a brand ambassador, representing the Gardens’ offerings to guests and prospective clients, and supports the Private Events Department in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities include on‑site event support, leading sales tours, and progressing assigned leads through the sales process from initial inquiry to close.
Responsibilities
Serve as the on‑site venue representative for all assigned events and rentals.
Conduct on‑site venue tours, vendor site visits, and final walkthroughs.
Move prospects through each stage of the sales process, ensuring a full start‑to‑finish client experience.
Respond to online, email, and phone inquiries daily.
Ensure the meeting of or exceeding of sales goals.
Provide support with setup and cleanup of events, including heavy lifting as needed.
Notify on‑site security or management of any unusual circumstances or safety issues.
Coordinate deliveries of rental décor, flowers, liquor, and catering to the correct locations.
Write event wrap‑up reports and document any damage to the property.
Ensure clients, vendors, and guests comply with all Chatfield Farms rules from setup through post‑event inspection.
Maintain a positive, proactive, solution‑oriented demeanor when serving clients, members, and visitors.
Support the seasonal event team to ensure successful events from start to finish.
Maintain satisfactory relationships with managers, co‑workers, clients, and others.
Adhere to all policies and procedures at Chatfield Farms.
Work a varied schedule, frequently including evenings, weekends, and some holidays, with flexibility to change hours and shifts.
Remote work is at the discretion of management; regular attendance at the worksite may be required.
Commit to the Gardens mission of connecting people with plants.
Qualifications
Positive representative of the Gardens both internally and externally at all times.
Respectful and cooperative demeanor with fellow employees and the public.
Committed to working safely at all times.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Calm under pressure; able to handle stressful situations with grace.
Flexible and willing to modify plans throughout the day.
Capable of working a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of contract negotiation and account management.
Knowledge of achieving revenue goals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Ability to work overtime if necessary.
Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of private event coordination and private event sales experience.
Minimum of 1 year of sales experience, with 1 year of corporate or wedding sales preferred.
Travel Up to 10% travel required. Ability to travel to remote locations or other Garden sites where the environment may vary significantly.
