The University of Mount Saint Vincent is a Catholic, inclusive liberal arts university. Seton College, its new two‑year division, offers an associate’s degree to underserved students beginning in the 2024‑25 year.

Course Description Introduction to Ethics examines key concepts in moral philosophy, including moral obligation, virtue, justice, law, and the nature of good and evil. Students engage with foundational philosophical texts, strengthen critical reasoning skills, and reflect on what constitutes a good and ethical life.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:05‑10:00 a.m.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 10:10‑11:05 a.m.

Tuesday, Thursday: 11:15 a.m.‑12:40 p.m.

Tuesday, Thursday: 12:50‑2:15 p.m.

Open Until Filled Applications submitted by November 7, 2025 will be given priority.

Responsibilities

Teach 3‑6 credits in the area of expertise using evidence‑based practices that support first‑generation student success.

Provide students with an up‑to‑date syllabus and clear course expectations.

Create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and academic excellence.

Participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative teaching community.

Maintain regular on‑campus office hours to support and advise students.

Requirements

Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred.

Enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and use of active‑learning methods.

Commitment to engaging and supporting a diverse student population.

Collaborative, student‑centered approach aligned with the mission of UMSV.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Creative and proactive problem solver.

Experience teaching HEOP students preferred.

Benefits Salary: $1,000 per credit.
