We are currently in search of an experienced
Addiction Counselor
for our Baltimore, MD location. The Addiction Counselor position requires a candidate who is innovative and committed to learning and developing their counseling skills, working and collaborating with an innovative, inter‑disciplinary team. This position requires someone who is invested in patient care and brings a solution‑focused attitude and outlook.
Responsibilities
Provides case management services that support a positive treatment outcome.
Serves as therapist in IOP and continued care groups, and provides individual therapy as needed for SUD and/or mental health disorders.
Organizes and delivers educational presentations related to behavioral health and recovery.
Develops patient‑centered treatment plans based on results from screening tools and a bio‑psychosocial assessment.
Collaborates with medical staff and the treatment team as a whole.
Consults with family members and referral sources to coordinate patient care.
Ensures adequate case management services are identified and addressed.
Makes and maintains electronic health records, documenting treatment activity and progress.
Ensures patient records are accurate, comprehensive and meet regulatory standards.
Demonstrates strong clinical, verbal, and writing skills.
Engages with patients while promoting and maintaining accountability.
Flexible and creative team player.
Versatile, flexible, and willing to work in a program that will grow over the next several years.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the SUD field; group treatment experience preferred.
Experience and comfort working with an electronic medical record system.
Knowledgeable in various recovery modalities, including SMART Recovery, Women for Sobriety, 12‑Step, Recovery Dharma, Harm Reduction, etc.
If a staff member is in recovery from a substance use disorder, a minimum of three years of continuous sobriety is required – five years preferred.

Addiction Counselor I – CSC‑AD in Maryland
Addiction Counselor II – CAC‑AD, LGADC, LGPC, LMSW, LCADC, LCPC, LCSW or LCSW‑C in Maryland
