Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Senior Controls Engineer that will be responsible for the development, implementation, optimization, and testing of control algorithms to join our Powertrain, and Body / Frame system teams. You will work closely with controls engineers, embedded systems engineers, and controls integration engineers to develop control systems for electric vehicles, as well as engage in calibration and testing of the systems. You will have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Design and develop control software in MATLAB / Simulink for vehicle state management and/or power management
Coordinate development needs with other departments
Take ownership of the software you develop through testing and validation, both on lab bench and in vehicle
Work with embedded / integration / cross-functional engineers to implement, test, debug and calibrate control algorithms
Provide guidance in software development to other team members
Interact with a highly skilled team in a fast-paced environment
Provide support for troubleshooting all control system related issues
Qualifications
Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
3+ years of experience building embedded controls software
Strong knowledge in MATLAB / Simulink
Experience in developing control algorithms
Direct experience in vehicle-level controls design in battery management, charging systems and state management for electric or hybrid vehicles.
Experience in modeling and simulation
Strong background in Model-Based system design in MATLAB / Simulink environment
Knowledge in auto-code generation in MATLAB / Simulink environment
Proficiency in C / C++ programming
Solid understanding of system / component design / development processes
Familiar with git version control
