Completion of probation as a Police Officer with a California law enforcement agency. Possession of a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. At least 24 of the past 36 months worked actively as a full‑time peace officer within the State of California. Applicants who have a Police Academy completion certificate but do not meet the full lateral criteria are considered Academy Graduates. Applicants without a Police Academy certificate of completion are not eligible for this position and should apply for the Recruit Trainee program. Application Process

– All qualifying candidates must complete a physical agility test at Bonita High School – Glenn Davis Stadium, 3102 D Street, La Verne, CA. Step #3: Oral Board Interview
– Candidates who pass the agility test will be invited to an oral board interview, which determines placement on the eligibility list. Physical Agility Test
Body Drag Lift 165‑pound human simulator (max 12 seconds). Chain Link Fence Run (5 yards to a 6‑foot fence, climb over, 25 yards onward; max 10 seconds). Solid Wall Climb Run (5 yards to a 6‑foot wall, climb over, 25 yards onward; max 13 seconds). 500‑Yard Run (equivalent to one lap plus 60 yards of standard track; max 1 minute 45 seconds). Oral Board Interview
The oral interview is weighted 100% and determines placement on the eligibility list, valid for one year unless extended. Duties
Patrol the city in a radio‑equipped vehicle and respond to calls for protection of life and property. Conduct preliminary and follow‑up investigations of disturbances, burglaries, thefts, and other criminal incidents. Respond to traffic incidents, enforce traffic safety laws, and direct traffic at emergencies. Make arrests, interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; gather and preserve evidence; testify in court. Cooperate with other law‑enforcement agencies on investigations. Prepare reports of arrests, activities, and unusual incidents. Check building physical security, search, fingerprint, and transport prisoners. Maintain positive public relations and provide assistance with special investigative duties. Abilities
Accurately observe and remember faces, numbers, incidents, and locations. Use and care for firearms. Act quickly in emergencies and make sound judgments. Apply laws, regulations, and procedures accurately. Prepare clear, grammatically correct written reports. Use standard broadcasting procedures on police radio systems. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships. Follow written and oral directions consistently. Experience and Education
All applicants must have completed twelfth grade (equivalent). License and Certification
