SciTech Services, Inc. (SciTech) is seeking a Technical Writer to provide support in the preparation of complex and technical information. The Technical Writer will be responsible for writing, rewriting, and editing technical documents, procedural, user programming, and technical, operation and maintenance manuals.
Major duties include:
Responsible for the research and preparation of technical, user, procedures, and other supporting documents.
Prepare Logistics Documentation such as: Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Prepare Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA); Logistics Maintenance Data (LMD) Reports.
Compile complex technical manuals by researching, writing, editing, and proofreading materials.
Write, rewrite, and edit technical, operational and maintenance manuals to ensure operational specifications, technical information, and service manuals are clearly and effectively communicated.
Make recommendations on the use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to explain project objectives.
Collaborate with product developers, observe product performance, and review technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals to acquire product knowledge.
Conduct quality assurance review of materials.
Obtain technical data through statistical reports and collaboration with technical staff.
Maintain records, files, catalog systems, electronic media, and archive publications.
Prepare materials for seminar and business meetings. Occasionally assist in delivering presentations.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, technical communication, or a related scientific or engineering discipline is .
A minimum of five years’ experience in logistics technical writing for chemical and biological defense systems.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external staff members, and to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, with a positive attitude.
