The Senior Field Applications Specialist - Life Sciences provides in‑field technical applications support for our current and next‑generation automated histopathology products and helps achieve Leica regional sales and profitability goals within the assigned territory. The role also includes training and mentoring newly hired Application Specialists and troubleshooting complex product/reagent applications in both clinical and research settings.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
Drive Leica to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual unit and reagent goals for supported products.
Train and mentor other Application Specialists on new product technologies and their applications in diagnostic and research histopathology, cytopathology, or cytogenetic environments.
Share technical and industry knowledge, including conference calls, Teams, and PowerPoint presentations.
Design and perform experiments to investigate and solve mid‑level to technical application problems.
Work with relevant sales personnel and field service engineers to strengthen customer relationships within the assigned geography and lead regional projects.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
Education: BA/BS in Life Sciences or equivalent experience.
Understanding of the relevant histology marketplace or a related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of histology laboratory experience in clinical, research, or industrial settings (with a practical focus on IHC/Research as relevant).
Minimum 3+ years of experience optimizing, operating, and supporting both manual and automated IHC instrumentation and related products.
Travel And Motor Vehicle Record Requirements
Travel: 75%, including overnight, within Boston, Hartford, New York, Providence, and other U.S. locations.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
It would be a Plus If You Also Possess Previous Experience In
Demonstrating leadership, mentorship, exemplary work ethic, and model behaviors consistent with Danaher Core Values among peers, business units, and cross‑functional teams.
Demonstrating advanced product knowledge.
Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Leica Biosystems offers a comprehensive benefits program that adds value to your life. This position is eligible for remote work arrangements. The annual salary range is $105,000 – $115,000, and the role may include bonus or incentive pay.
