Supervisor, Underwriting Job Location: US

Overview The Supervisor, Underwriting - AQA is a detail‑oriented and process‑driven professional that leads operational excellence for Automation Quality Assurance (AQA), reporting up through the Commercial Lines Product department. This role is responsible for driving consistency, efficiency, and quality of automated underwriting through standardized quality auditing processes, training, and oversight. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the transition to a future multi‑line quality process and ensuring a high‑performing, well‑aligned automation quality team, directly adding value to the build‑out and improvement of innovation underwriting automation technologies. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities

Own creation, execution, and maintenance of the automation quality audit process for all automation‑supported business transactions across CL products.

Manage monthly intake process from regional underwriting leaders, Underwriting Officers, and Product Management team to ensure the needs of the business are being addressed.

Initiate and own a regular cadence of feedback sessions with regional underwriting teams.

Ensure areas of opportunity are addressed through Automation Governance and progress is reported back to stakeholders as part of a closed‑loop process.

Support the creation and maintenance of small business handling procedures in conjunction with the Product Systems team and Underwriting Officers, streamlining the underwriting process between fully automated and underwriting‑supported business.

Curate AQA audit form and tools to deliver consistent, high‑value‑add AQA data.

Calibrate team members and underwriting leaders regularly on best practices for file review standards.

Own, review, and report out on key quality metrics, including, but not limited to Risk Quality, Agent Quality, and Automation quality.

Recruit, manage, coach, develop, mentor, and regularly assess and review performance metrics for a team of direct reports.

Enforce compliance with company and operational policies, procedures, training, company standards, and state and federal regulations.

Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

3+ years of experience in underwriting quality assurance

Demonstrated hands‑on leadership and project management skills

Bachelor's Degree and/or combination of experience and education

Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies and operational best practices

Demonstrated ability to lead innovative initiatives and drive adoption of new processes

Experience with SQL, PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, and/or querying data cubes is a plus

Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and regions

Able to make sound business decisions based on relevant data

Creates an environment of high standards, compliance, and conduct through excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Translates strategic direction and client needs into team vision and deliverables

Leads through change and influences teamwork

The expected salary range for this role is $73,000-$120,000/year.
