Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team.
This individual will be responsible for leading sourcing, supplier qualification, and spend analytics initiatives across assigned categories to ensure the company achieves measurable cost savings, improved supplier performance, and reduced risk.
This role plays a critical part in implementing and enforcing global procurement policies, driving process harmonization, and supporting the development of data-driven sourcing strategies. The incumbent will collaborate closely with global and local procurement teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders in Quality, Technical Services, Operations, and Finance, to align sourcing practices with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
The position requires a highly analytical, commercially astute professional with strong negotiation, supplier management, and project management capabilities, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic and regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Develop and execute category strategies to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and reduce risk.
Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and leverage purchasing power across sites.
Manage RFP/RFQ processes, ensuring transparency, documentation, and data-driven decision-making.
Lead vendor qualification and evaluation programs, ensuring suppliers meet all regulatory, technical, and operational requirements.
Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements that optimize pricing, service levels, and risk mitigation.
Support supplier audits, approvals, and technical qualification files to maintain a robust Approved Vendor List (AVL).
Identify and qualify alternate suppliers to ensure supply continuity and create competitive leverage.
Analytics, Reporting & Systems
Lead implementation and ongoing administration of spend management and procurement analytics software, including user training.
Develop, standardize, and maintain global spend reporting dashboards with input from purchasing leads and finance.
Perform detailed spend analysis, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations to identify savings opportunities.
Track and report procurement-driven savings and operational efficiency metrics across global sites.
Support procurement excellence initiatives and continuous improvement through data analytics and process optimization.
Maintain and analyze supplier KPIs, scorecards, and risk assessments to drive performance improvement.
Supplier & Contract Management
Facilitate the identification and competitive selection of suppliers based on the optimal mix of quality, cost, and reliability.
Support contract management within applicable ERP and procurement systems (SAP, NAV, Business Central).
Conduct supplier performance reviews and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with cGMP, regulatory, and company requirements in all sourcing and contracting activities.
Participate in supplier assessment processes and risk mitigation strategies.
Governance & Policy Alignment
Support the implementation and enforcement of the Global Procurement Policy and related procedures across all sites.
Ensure adherence to standardized sourcing, contracting, and supplier management practices.
Contribute to global category strategies, leveraging group volumes and cross-site synergies.
Drive adoption, compliance, and reporting consistency across the global procurement organization.
Qualifications & Experience Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline required.
Advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
Professional certifications such as
CSCP, MCIPS, CPSM, or equivalent
strongly preferred.
Formal training in
Strategic Sourcing
or
Negotiation
is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum
3–5 years
of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management in a
manufacturing or regulated industry
(pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or chemical preferred).
Proven success in negotiation and contract management for raw materials, packaging, and technical services.
Demonstrated experience with vendor qualification programs, supplier audits, and compliance with cGMP and quality standards.
Strong understanding of finance and P&L concepts, with ability to perform cost modeling and spend analytics.
Skills & Competencies:
Advanced analytical and modeling skills with strong business and financial acumen.
Proficiency with
ERP systems (SAP, NAV, Business Central)
and
data visualization tools (Power BI, Excel) .
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
