Summary / Objective The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for supporting the procurement process by preparing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring smooth day-to-day purchasing operations.
Functions
Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
Source and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, tooling, and services
Manage vendor relationships and performance metrics
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and company policies
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to forecast demand and manage inventory
Monitor market trends and identify cost‑saving opportunities
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
Lead and mentor purchasing staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field
5+ years of purchasing experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and DFARS requirements
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
