The Boeing Company is currently seeking an experienced, passionate and hands‑on DevSecOps/Platforms Engineer to join the Enterprise Software Verticals (ESV) organization located in Arlington, Virginia and several other sites throughout the United States.

As an integral member of our Platform Engineering team, you will operate multiple DevSecOps environments within AWS, collaborate closely with software engineers, cloud and infrastructure operations, cybersecurity teams, and tool vendors to build and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient runtime environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling that empower Boeing engineering teams throughout all stages of the certified Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Position Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, document, and maintain standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, platforms, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety‑critical software across multi‑cloud and data center environments.

Deploy, configure, and maintain a suite of tools essential to support safety‑critical software development.

Automate deployment processes, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of all tools into the CI/CD pipelines.

Implement monitoring and observability solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of environments.

Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.

Analyze, plan, and execute mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.

Work closely with other engineering and cross‑functional teams to build, enhance, and continuously improve the developer experience, providing support and guidance on using available tools and services while maintaining robust, scalable, and secure software engineering platforms.

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of infrastructure and processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.

Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering DevSecOps environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

2+ years of hands‑on experience in AWS with a strong focus on modern DevSecOps and GitOps practices.

2+ years in Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies, enabling efficient deployment and management of applications.

Experience in Configuration as Code (CaC), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation frameworks, enabling scalable and reliable infrastructure management.

2+ years of experience using Agile methodologies, contributing to iterative and collaborative project delivery.

2+ years of experience in software development.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, data science, or related field.

Strong communication skills and a self‑starter who can thrive in a distributed remote work environment.

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Familiarity with designing and implementing full‑stack and scalable microservices infrastructure.

Experience working with and supporting systems running on Linux operating systems.

Proven experience in the end‑to‑end lifecycle of setting up, configuring, and managing tools such as GitLab, Docker, and other cloud/kubernetes hosting environments.

Working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging, testing, and integration of software tools.

Understanding of secure software development methodologies and a Security First mindset.

Travel 10%
