Project Manager Submarine – Norfolk, VA with Security Clearance
Location: Norfolk, VA. Role requires Secret security clearance and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Overview M.C. Dean is a leading engineering and technology solutions provider, delivering resilient and secure power and IT systems for nation‑critical facilities. With over 7,000 employees, our expertise spans electrical, electronic security, telecommunications, life safety, automation, audiovisual, and IT systems. Our Maritime Division supports C4ISR installations on U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines from regional offices in Chesapeake, VA, and San Diego, CA.
Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of direct work experience with surface ship C4ISR installations, including at least 8 years managing or performing design, installation, testing, inspection, logistics, resource management, and completion of C4ISR system installation efforts for U.S. Navy surface ships.
4+ years as a manager of shipboard installation projects involving multiple systems. Proven ability to supervise project personnel, schedule work, write proposals, prepare bids, and control equipment and material logistics.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
Knowledge of FAR and DFAR, and possession of relevant certifications such as Hazardous Materials (Haz‑Mat), Shipyard Competent Person, Aloft/Climbing, Confined Spaces, and CPR.
Experience working primarily in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA with willingness to travel to other U.S. Navy shipyards and overseas ports.
Background investigation clearance; U.S. citizenship with eligibility for classified information access. Secret clearance required.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Additional Requirements Work will be performed in environments that require extended periods of computer use, sitting, standing, and ability to lift 50 lbs. Candidates must have strong hand‑dexterity and the ability to manipulate small objects with precision.
