Mechanical Design Engineer - Specialty Design/Build Commercial Construction - Base Salary to 115k/year - Cleveland, OH Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization dedicated to delivering high-quality specialty construction solutions across a wide range of complex projects. They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to offer design, development, and continuous improvement for their specialty commercial construction solutions (mechanical and architectural), responsible for managing the procurement of mechanical components and coordinating with internal and external design partners. Fluency in Solidworks 3D and Autodesk Revit BIM software and understanding of construction principles is key for this 100% in-office role.
Responsibilities
Design/ engineer specialty construction systems using Solidworks for mechanical components and AutoCAD Revit for architectural/facility integration
Develop 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings for components
Perform structural and mechanical analysis (e.g., stress, deflection, thermal)
Collaborate closely with team members to integrate mechanical designs
Develop and maintain design libraries within Solidworks and AutoCAD Revit
Provide technical expertise to ensure design feasibility and efficiency
Procure specialized mechanical components; send requisitions, review quotes
Collaborate with external design partners re: requirements & standards utilizing AutoCAD Revit for architectural coordination
Visit project sites and fabrication facilities for QC review as needed
Participate in improvement re: design, functionality, manufacturability, and cost
7am - 4pm work hours, Monday - Friday
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
8+ years Mechanical Design for Commercial Construction or manufacturing
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards
Proficient in Solidworks (or equivalent 3D CAD software), AutoCAD Revit /BIM software, for both part and assembly modeling & for architectural and facility integration modeling and documentation
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and thermal analysis
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, welding)
Project Management Fundamentals, Supply Chain Awareness
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Compensation
Base salary in the 85k - 115k/year range; flexible dependent on experience
