Production Supervisor – Day Shift Location:
Clayton–Smithfield, NC Area
About the Role Aegis Worldwide is a recruiting firm partnered with a global manufacturer near the Smithfield, NC area. We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their fast-paced manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a hands‑on approach to daily production operations, and a continuous improvement mindset. This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while developing and leading a team of 20+ employees.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate production operations to meet daily and long‑term manufacturing goals.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 20+ production employees, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and other CI tools to enhance productivity and quality.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct employee performance reviews, handle disciplinary actions, and manage attendance and scheduling.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve operational challenges and optimize processes.
Oversee training and onboarding for new team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to procedures.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on production metrics to management.
Qualifications
5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing production supervisory or leadership role.
Proven experience managing large teams (20+ employees) in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Working knowledge of Lean principles, Continuous Improvement, and root cause analysis.
Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a hands‑on management style.
Ability to interpret and implement production schedules and process documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
