Sr. Structural – Bridge Design Engineer

Competitive Pay & Benefits The Sr. Structural – Bridge Design Engineer will lead and manage bridge design engineering projects from conception through completion. They will be involved in designing, analyzing, and evaluating bridge structures to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with NCDOT standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee bridge design and analysis projects in accordance with NCDOT requirements.
Perform structural analysis and design for various types of bridge structures, including new constructions, widening and rehabilitation.
Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
Conduct field inspections and evaluations of existing bridge conditions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers and staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCDOT policies, guidelines, and industry’s best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
Master’s degree (MSCE) .
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of North Carolina is required.
10 to 15+ years of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on NCDOT projects.
Extensive knowledge of NCDOT design standards, specifications, and procedures.
Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LARSA, Merlin Dash, Leap Bridge).
Familiarity with detailing software such as MicroStation and OpenBridge is a plus.
Knowledge of civil and engineering principles, reporting, analysis and management of teams and projects.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
