Nouria Energy is a fast‑pace, fast‑growing retail and wholesale petroleum company operating 155 locations from Maine into Connecticut with a corporate office located in Worcester, MA. We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Buyer who will be responsible for procurement of store equipment, supplies, negotiating favorable pricing and terms, inventory management, developing contractual agreements and RFP documents. Typical Responsibilities
Review purchase requests, create and track purchase orders
Effectively manage supplier performance to meet cost and quality objectives
Source and carry out new vendor qualification activities
Negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing, payment, and shipping terms
Implement supplier agreements and statements of work (SOW) as needed
Support competitive bid process for various projects and development analysis and recommendations
Maintain supplier database for product master files
Act as a liaison between retail operations as it pertains to the requests of supplies and equipment
Interact with accounting to ensure invoicing discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar discipline
2‑5 years Purchasing experience in a retail environment
Strong communication and negotiating skills, written and verbal
Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to stay organized, multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
Occasionally requires bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting to 10 pounds.
May require driving or traveling overnight for business functions or site visits.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
