Responsibilities
Prepare and record daily and event‑related journal entries for:
Ticketing (Box Office and Ticketmaster)
Premium Services
Merchandise
Parking
Food & Beverage
Track bank deposits and assist in researching/reconciling discrepancies when compared to point‑of‑sale data
Assist in banking and treasury functions including:
Ordering currency for upcoming organizational cash needs
Making bank deposits
Review the hockey team’s hotel invoices for errors, payroll deductions, and billable items
Administer compliance and dispute resolution for credit card chargebacks
Prepare and maintain financial information in Excel and Sage Intacct accounting system
Process certain accounts receivable transactions
Prepare sales/use, and GST tax filings
Review corporate American Express statement and prepare related accounting entries while also ensuring proper support for all purchases
Assist with preparing audit documentation
Adhere to processes/procedures of the accounting department while also being vigilant to identify any improvement opportunities
Learn other related tasks to help cover other roles for vacations, etc.
Perform special projects as assigned by the CFO, Controller, and/or company management
Experience
Qualified candidate should have a minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting or related-field and/or 1‑3 years of equivalent experience in accounting/bookkeeping. Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
Must be able to work efficiently and independently with strong attention to detail.
Intermediate Excel skills (such as the ability to prepare spreadsheets with formulas, references, and proper formatting – as well as the ability to analyze spreadsheet data using sorting/filtering) are required. Strong Excel skills (such as using advanced formulas, pivot tables, and/or basic macros) are preferred.
Experience with Sage Intacct, Nexonia, and/or TicketMaster is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
Must pass a criminal background check
