Position Summary Mid-level Engineer responsible for coordinating and developing product and material specifications, creating detailed CAD drawings, and building multi-level bills of materials. The role requires strong collaboration in a cross-functional team, working closely with Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure successful outcomes. Attention to detail, self‑direction, and resourcefulness are essential. This is a full‑time, on‑site temporary role (3‑6 months minimum) with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent position based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the product transfer: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure a seamless transfer of product manufacturing to the Franklin facility.

Create and update detailed CAD drawings: Produce or revise detailed computer‑aided design drawings for the product, including parts, assemblies, and installation instructions.

Structure multi‑level Bills of Materials (BOMs): Organize and manage the multi‑level BOMs for the product, which is a list of the components, sub‑assemblies, intermediate assemblies, and raw materials needed to manufacture it.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams: Work closely with the following teams to ensure collective success and alignment: Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing.

Release and control documentation: Assist in managing the release and revision control of product documentation as part of the new product release process.

Engineering analyses include strength, stiffness, balance, stability, and material selection.

Tolerance analyses and design for assembly.

Define test plans and execute product testing for engineering confidence and design verification.

Problem solving, failure analysis, and root cause analysis.

Recommend and participate in functional training to advance technical capabilities and stay current with engineering and manufacturing methods.

Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Embracing a hands‑on approach to manufacturing support.

Experience And Qualifications

BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

3+ years of related demonstrated successful experience.

Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD (sheet metal and solids modules) and mechanical drawings.

Knowledge in design for various production processes, including sheet metal stamping & forming, machining, extruding, powder coating, and plating (injection molding, die‑casting a plus).

Project management skills.

Mechanical aptitude and experience.

Additional Details

Type: Full‑Time, Temporary.

Location: Franklin, MA (On‑site).

Salary: 90,000 - 110,000 Annualized Base Pay.

Duration: 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension or permanent hire based on performance and business needs.
