Job Overview:

The Material Coordinator provides comprehensive material management support at SWRMC, ensuring efficient research, tracking, issuing, storing, and inventory of materials and repair parts for the SWRMC product families.

Key Responsibilities

Support SWRMC Production Control Division in accomplishing material logistical support for Intermediate (I)-level brokered maintenance work in accordance with JFMM and SWRMC Work Induction Business and Broker Rules.

Provide material management support to the various SWRMC Product Families, Product Lines, and Shops, as assigned.

Perform material management support in accordance with NAVSUP, OPNAV, DoD supply instructions, manuals, and publications; SWRMC data system process guides; and prescribed GSS standard operating procedures.

Research, track, receive, issue, store, and inventory materials and repair parts; perform inventory routine counts, validate locations, and resolve variances.

Manage Mission Support Material (MSM) and Future Use Material (FUM), maintain and organize warehousing for easy access and transfer.

Process offloads of excess material per DoD and NAVSUP policies.

Provide requisition requests for Government Furnished Material (GFM) required for Off‑Site Shop work.

Validate materials and services requests from shops, create Job Material Lists (JMLs), and follow up on requisitions.

Assist with pickup of supplies, perform quality assurance functions on received items.

Monitor material statuses and take corrective actions when required.

Complete and manage all required paperwork and records supporting SWRMC GSS material management processes.

Order material requirements timely to support required delivery dates and provide shop personnel with updates.

Maintain compliance with SWRMCINST 4200.5 and other relevant policies.

Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

High School education, Trade School, or equivalent with 6 years of related experience; technical/professional certifications preferred.

Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Ability to compete SWRMC General Supply Specialist (GSS) Job Qualification Requirement within four (4) months of direct support.

Completion of OHSA 10 and Low Speed Vehicle training within ninety (90) days.

Proficient in computer/web applications required for duties (MSE, WEBFLIS, WEBVLIPS, OTS, FedMall, MRO Tracker, GSA Advantage, Haystack, FEDLOG).

Valid CAC ID and DoD Security Clearance required.

Start date contingent upon base access approval.

Forklift license may be required depending on shop need.

Bonus Points

Current, valid DoD confidential security clearance or higher.

Recent Material Coordinator experience.

Prefer technical/professional certifications.

Physical Requirements

Lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes (minimum 30 lbs).

Work on and climb ladders; operate in extreme temperature environments; work in confined spaces.

Perform other duties involving high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions.

Travel may be required within and outside the continental United States.
