About the role We are seeking a Customs Compliance & Procurement Specialist to support our import/export operations and strategic purchasing initiatives. This role ensures all shipments meet U.S. customs regulations while managing procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods from international suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a background in materials science, chemistry, or a related technical field, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to bridge technical understanding with practical business execution. Candidates who studied at a reputable U.S. university and are fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese will be especially well-suited for this position.

What you'll do Procurement & Supply Chain

Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, components, and finished goods related to both e-commerce and advanced materials products.

Negotiate terms, pricing, and lead times with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.

Analyze supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to maintain quality and consistency.

Collaborate with the Product Development, Operations, and Finance teams to forecast purchasing needs and optimize inventory levels.

Track and monitor purchase orders, shipments, and inbound container schedules.

Ensure compliance with U.S. import and export regulations, including CBP, BIS, ITAR, and EAR requirements.

Classify products under the correct HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes and determine accurate country-of-origin labeling.

Review and maintain import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping manifests.

Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance of international shipments.

Maintain detailed compliance records in accordance with CBP and internal audit standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with the China operations team and U.S. headquarters to align procurement, logistics, and customs activities.

Communicate regularly with warehouse, finance, and product teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with import regulations.

Support Finance in reconciling duties, tariffs, and landed cost calculations.

Provide recommendations to improve procurement efficiency and regulatory compliance.
