Polymer Solutions (Vestolit), an Orbia business, is looking for a People Business Partner to support our business office in Avon Lake, OH!
Job Summary/ Purpose The People Business Partner will provide comprehensive generalist human resources service to managers and employees at all levels across our business office and plant site(s). You will lead the People function projects and processes, ensuring they are implemented in line with required timelines and protocols, and administer all Total Reward packages, including benefits and payroll, to employees across all locations. You will be the liaison between other companies in the US for overall benefits and payroll.
Main Responsibilities
To manage the Vestolit US (MSR) business and the site’s operational HR priorities on a day‑to‑day basis supporting the Regional Business Director, Specialty Resins, Americas
Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals
Provide guidance on workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning
Act as a key advisor on employee relations, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies
Partner with leadership to enhance employee engagement and foster a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement
Utilize HR analytics to provide data‑driven insights and recommendations
Drive performance management processes to ensure employee development and accountability
Support change management initiatives, including restructuring, mergers, or workforce transitions
Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies
Coaching and supporting managers with their leadership and management to effectively develop capability and high performance within their teams
Provide information, resources, and employment advice for employees and management in all aspects of human resources, and to contribute with timely solutions, options, and recommendations in line with best practice
To develop, coordinate, and implement Company Policies and Procedures, ensuring legal compliance, good practice, and ‘best fit’ to achieve business strategy
To drive and deliver HR and improvement projects, ensuring outcomes are aligned with the business strategy and legislation
To initiate and influence change management programs
Managing the recruitment process for all manpower needs, including interviewing and supporting managers in effective selection
Ensuring employees receive full formal induction plans, conducting business overview and induction presentations where required to ensure effective communication of the business and management systems, utilising tools and resources available
Coaching of managers through the annual talent and succession planning, performance, and merit cycles, providing guidance and coaching on these processes
To create and deliver on Talent Acquisition/Development plans with senior teams in accordance with Succession Planning strategies
Manage payroll/ manpower budgets for both US sites, including any changes, analysis, etc
Maintain the accuracy of HRIS and performance review database, which contains employment, salary, and benefits history
Communicates and conducts employee Health and Welfare benefits, including analysis and open Enrollment
Work within the HR budget, ensuring costs are kept to a minimum, e.g., recruitment
Regular updates and monitoring of KPIs, analyzing trends, and reporting as required
Work collaboratively with the wider People Function Teams in other business groups and within Vestolit Global, and at an Orbia Corporate level
Travel as required between Vestolit and Alphagary US sites, and on occasion to other business groups or plants
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ experience gained in an international manufacturing sector or similar industry.
Minimum 10 years’ experience working as a Business Partner in generalist human resources roles.
Prior experience of having worked in a multi‑site environment
Knowledge/ Experience Required
Up to date knowledge of US Human Resources legislation and best practice gained within a manufacturing or similar industry
Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS software
