Job Description
Zf Services, LLC has openings for the position of Lean Promotions Officer based in Vernon Hills, IL. The role involves the implementation of ZF Production System (ZF PS) elements, Plant Lean Evaluation, and Lean Transformation Planning (LTP) across the facility. Responsibilities include driving lean initiatives, training staff, monitoring financial impacts of improvement projects, and ensuring continuous improvement across all functions.
Job Duties
Lead and coordinate the implementation of the ZF Production System and Lean Transformation Planning.
Support the construction of the LTP, drive, and control lean transformation activities from shop floor to administrative functions.
Manage and execute standardized ZF Production System elements and training to maintain competency in lean activities.
Promote waste elimination within the value stream to improve operational performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Train, mentor, and coach facility staff for on‑time implementation of LTP and lean principles.
Assess the financial impact of continuous improvement projects and prepare summaries for management review.
Review all continuous improvement projects to ensure financial and operational impacts align with company goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management/Operations, or a closely related field.
At least 1 year of experience in a lean implementation role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with lean concepts and tools: Kaizen Process, Visual Management, 5S methodology, Value Stream Mapping, Standardized Work, Assembly Line Balancing, Total Productive Maintenance, Machine Changeover Analysis, and Gemba Walks.
Structured problem‑solving experience using A3 problem solving, 5 Why method, and Ishikawa diagram.
Teaching technical topics such as assembly line balancing, productivity measurement, machine changeover analysis, and cycle time recording.
Moderation of operational review meetings at the shop floor level.
Advanced MS Excel skills for calculations, data analysis, and graph creation.
Experience with time studies, statistical data analysis, manufacturing bills of material structures, and automotive component assembly technologies (mechanical and electromechanical).
