Job Overview Ferguson Construction is a well-established general contractor with over 100 years of experience, specializing in industrial and commercial projects. With an in‑house design department and experienced skilled labor crews, we value quality, efficiency, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Utilize pre‑engineered metal building supplier programs to estimate building package costs.
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop self‑perform labor and equipment costs.
Estimate and purchase parts for buyout items such as insulated metal wall panels, liner panels, insulation, roofing, trims, doors, anchor bolts, and more.
Coordinate with design teams to establish optimal building layouts and details.
Identify potential value‑engineering opportunities.
Build effective relationships with material and equipment suppliers that reflect Ferguson’s core values.
Collaborate with design teams on anchor‑bolt and permit drawings.
Coordinate with operations teams on deliveries.
Track, analyze, and compare historical cost data to current costs for budgeting, rule‑of‑thumb checks, and firm pricing.
Communicate effectively between estimating and operations across all four office regions.
Qualifications
Overall understanding and background in steel erection, metal siding, roofing, and sheet‑metal work.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Understanding of how estimating supports construction operations.
Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects in different phases.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical training or field experience (preferred).
