As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of cutting‑edge mechanical solutions. Your strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies will ensure that the products developed under your leadership meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your proficiency in CAD software and other design tools will enable you to effectively oversee the design process and ensure the delivery of innovative and high‑performance mechanical solutions. You will report directly to our Mechanical Engineering Manager and will work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule. Note: New hires are required to report onsite M‑F for the first 90 days. In this role, you will impact the development of Loop Sorter MHE system designs that will drive the success of our Industrial Automation business. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications, design and develop loop sorter systems, and perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure product performance and reliability. Responsibilities
Lead and drive the mechanical design process of loop sorter applications, from concept to project turnover Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and specifications of loop sorter applications Perform mechanical analysis and simulations to ensure project performance and reliability Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers on loop sorter applications Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics 6+ years of experience in mechanical design Experience in Loop Sorter, cross belt (cross‑belt) sorter, or tilt tray sorter Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Proven track record of successful mechanical design projects for conveyor MHE Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices Experience with product testing and validation Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
