SolidWorks CAD Designer - Wixom, Michigan Four-month contract position (potential contract-to-hire position).
Description of the SolidWorks CAD Designer A SolidWorks CAD Designer creates 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks software for engineering and manufacturing projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create and modify 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks
Produce detailed 2D technical drawings, including dimensions, specifications, and material requirements
Collaborate with engineers, product development teams, and other stakeholders to develop concepts and refine designs
Manage design changes, including creating and tracking engineering change orders (ECRs) and revising documentation
Ensure designs are accurate, cost-effective, and meet project requirements
Generate flat patterns and cut files for manufacturing operations
Maintain and organize CAD files and revision history
Required Skills and Qualifications
EXPERT LEVEL of SolidWorks CAD proficiency desired
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering processes, and design for manufacturability
Familiarity of GD&T stack-up analysis, and mechanical drafting standards
Experience managing large assembly files
Strong attention to detail, organized files, and commitment to documentation accuracy
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative, start‑up environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Potential travel to California could be required
