Position Summary Leads and participates in the design, development, and implementation of advanced infrastructure engineering activities, including cross-functional technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities. Responsible for highly complex engineering and analytical tasks, establishing hardware/software compatibility, subsystem coordination, and total system integration. Serves as a technology subject matter expert on projects, communicating solutions across technical, managerial, and executive audiences, as well as vendors. Oversees multiple complex projects and may direct teams for special initiatives or operations. Leads resolution of complex problems through in-depth analysis and exercises judgment within defined standards.

The Architect is responsible for designing infrastructure systems for a portfolio of applications, aligning technology blueprints and standards with business and application requirements. This includes defining and documenting hardware, software, infrastructure components, modules, interfaces, scalability, and high availability solutions to meet specified requirements. Responsibilities include:

Lead platform modernization initiatives, including legacy platform upgrades, microservices architecture, containerization, and hybrid cloud solutions in collaboration with CIO architects and development managers.

Identify and recommend solutions to optimize and modernize computing resources.

Analyze information to support the design and maintenance of enterprise applications.

Evaluate existing and proposed systems to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.

Collaborate with technical teams, including networking, to ensure system compatibility and connectivity.

Develop and maintain system design documentation and diagrams.

Provide third-level support for major incident troubleshooting and resolution across assigned applications.

Support deployment issues in upstream and downstream environments.

Drive design strategy and engineering standards across infrastructure teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and best practices.

Required Skills

Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years of enterprise IT experience.

Minimum of 5 years infrastructure related experience with very strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and application integration.

Minimum of 2 years Enterprise level design experience.

Strong working knowledge of Networking, Windows/Linux OS, Middleware, DMZ/Firewall, Local and Global load balancing expertise as it relates to midrange systems application integration and design.

Experience leading microservices strategy, container adoption (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and hybrid cloud design solutions.

Desired Skills

Strong knowledge of CICD tools and automation frameworks including Terraform is a plus.

Job Description This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution aligned to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. Key responsibilities include describing the solution intent/associated operating environment, evaluating system impacts, determining the primary systems/sub-systems and their interfaces, and assisting with end-to-end solution design. Job expectations include defining non-functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and service providers.

Responsibilities

Consults with the business and operations to identify and understand challenges and opportunities to improve the use and effectiveness of technology, find creative solutions through knowledge of the domain, practical experiments, and Proof of Concepts, and aligns the solution intent and architectural vision to an evolving backlog of technology change

Works with product management and other stakeholders to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features

Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)

Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements and ensures architecture is flexible, modular, and designed to adapt easily

Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions

Clarifies the architecture and assists with system design for the development teams to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments

Utilizes the defined best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs and suggests improvements to best practices and templates

Pay Transparency details US - NJ - Pennington - 1300 American Blvd - Hopewell Bldg 3 (NJ2130) Pay and benefits information Pay range $105,600.00 - $165,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
