This role plays a vital part in safeguarding the company’s financial integrity by ensuring accurate and timely reporting, maintaining confidentiality, and implementing effective internal controls. About the Role
The Senior Accountant will assist in developing and executing strategic financial initiatives to support cost control and operational efficiency across the organization. This position is suited for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong experience in accounting processes and team leadership, preferably within the construction industry. Responsibilities
Oversee full-cycle accounting including journal entries, account reconciliations, month‑end closing, and preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Maintain an accurate chart of accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls through internal audits. Support the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting and analysis to support strategic decision‑making. Review and improve current financial policies and procedures; ensure consistent implementation across the company. Supervise the accounting team, including oversight of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely payments and collections. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as IT, Operations, and HR to improve data accuracy, financial processes, and systems integration. Manage compliance‑related tasks such as business license renewals, personal property tax filings, and sales and use tax filings. Assist with limited HR functions, as needed. Qualifications
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in the construction industry. Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes. Required Skills
Demonstrated skills in process improvement, cost control, and performance management. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and automated accounting systems. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines. Experience in managing accounting teams and cross‑departmental collaboration. Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to leadership. Seniority level
