Mid-Level Geologist – Tetra Tech, Kansas City, MO
The position is a full‑time, mid‑level geologist based in the Kansas City, MO office. Applicants must have 7–12 years of experience in environmental studies and advanced analytical skills, with a strong background in soil, groundwater, and air sampling. The Opportunity

We are seeking a geologist to support a variety of environmental projects across Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri, primarily for EPA Superfund sites. The selected candidate will: Manage field projects and supervise junior staff. Prepare cost estimates and work plans. Write technical reports and conduct peer reviews. Oversee monitoring well installation and logging. Plan and conduct soil, groundwater, surface water, and indoor air sampling. Interpret sample data and prepare summary reports. Support Phase I and II environmental site assessments. Travel as required (roughly 25–35% travel, with some overnight trips). Qualifications
7–12 years of environmental consulting, with experience in hazardous material analysis. Extensive report writing and at least moderate project management experience. Prior technical review work and experience at EPA Superfund sites is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in MS Word and Excel. Additional Requirements
Background check. Degree / Certification
B.A. or B.S. in Geology or Geological Engineering (required). Completion of 40‑hour HAZWOPER training and a current 8‑hour refresher (required; training provided if not possessed). Professional geologist (PG) or registered geologist (RG) license preferred but not required. Work Environment
Field work in all seasons; lifting up to 50 lb; full‑face respirator use; regular driving and valid driver’s license required. Life at Tetra Tech
