MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or its equivalent.
Valid Class E Driver License.
Preference for experience in care, management, and husbandry of livestock including equine or poultry.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Regulatory responsibilities subject to Section 60L-36.003 and Chapter 112.313.
Willingness to respond to emergency duty as an active member of Division IMT (Incident Management Team), including deployment and week‑end/holiday work.
Must pass pulmonary function test, regular respirator fit‑testing, and wear a respirator when required.
Must wear appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
Must reside in one of the required counties throughout employment.

JOB DUTIES Introduction: The primary duties of an Agriculture and Consumer Protection Inspector (ACPI) are to enforce state rules and regulations around animal disease control, cooperate with state and federal partners, and protect Florida’s agricultural industry and the public. The ACPI conducts animal disease program activities, performs livestock inspections, enforces regulations, verifies permits, collects samples, educates owners, and assists veterinary medical officers. The ACPI also performs emergency preparedness and response activities, collects information for emergency management database, prepares reports, maintains supplies and equipment, and participates in training workshops. Other related duties are performed as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Effective communication and public interaction.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to bend, kneel, climb, stand, and walk for several hours each day.
Ability to work on uneven terrain.
Ability to conduct inspections in natural and cultivated areas.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
