Base pay range $50.00/hr - $64.00/hr

Responsibilities Kforce has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist at a financial client. This is contract‑to‑hire and the candidate must reside in Texas, preferably Dallas or Houston. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for utilizing quantitative and qualitative collection and analysis tools to provide data‑driven insights that help the business achieve its strategic goals and priorities. You will use your analytical skills, innovative personality and desire to build relationships to collaborate with multiple lines of business.

Collect and analyze large and complex data sets to identify patterns and trends.

Manipulate and clean results to build predictive and prescriptive models and present the findings to business partners and leaders.

Develop and apply statistical models to predict trends and outcomes.

Design and implement machine learning algorithms to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data‑driven solutions to business problems.

Communicate findings and recommendations to non‑technical stakeholders.

Continuously monitor data and update models as needed.

Stay up to date with industry trends and new technologies in data science.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience; OR corresponding Master's degree with 2+ years of experience.

Experience with hands‑on data extraction and data wrangling from internal and external systems.

Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.

Familiarity with cloud tools and LLMs.

Proficient in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.

Strong programming skills in Python or R, Spark, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or other analytical/model‑building programming languages.

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

Experience in building accelerated AI/ML utilities, modern AI/ML techniques (GANs, Generative AI, etc.).

Knowledge of cloud‑native tools and ops for AI/ML.

Background in financial business‑like banking, insurance or mortgage.

Passion for cross‑functional collaboration and team leadership.
