Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented

Staff Accountant

to join a stable, family-owned organization with a strong reputation for quality and employee satisfaction. This position plays a key role in the financial operations of the company, supporting the accounting function across multiple properties and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working in a close-knit team environment and is looking for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.

Produce accurate GAAP financial statement packages for assigned properties.

Prepare account reconciliation schedules, roll-forwards, and supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts (e.g., fixed assets, prepaids, accrued liabilities, etc.).

Complete month-end and quarter-end general ledger closes, ensuring all income and expenses are properly classified.

Support property management and operations teams with budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.

Assist with year-end close processes, annual audits, and tax filings.

Maintain compliance with applicable accounting regulations and internal controls.

Collaborate with other accounting team members to continuously improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred (Finance or Business degrees also considered).

Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and data entry skills.

Proficiency in Excel and general ledger systems; experience with property management or job‑costing software (such as MRI, AvidXchange, or RealPage) is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a small, family‑oriented company culture.

Property management or real estate industry experience strongly preferred.

Must be able to work on‑site full time.
