Our global EPC Firm client is hiring an

Assistant Civil Detailer

for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Wallingford, CT.

The Assistant Civil Detailer will support plans and produce non‑routine drawings with complex features using rough sketches, engineering notes, or brief verbal guidance. This role spans various projects across a diverse portfolio of types and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in a full range of drawing production work.

Produce project deliverables efficiently and within budget.

Assist with CAD drawing production and project execution.

Print, scan, and submit drawing packages.

Maintain high CAD proficiency and mastery of current CAD systems.

Effectively use multiple application packages as required.

Review and adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.

Identify priority tasks and implement execution plans.

Communicate with team and management regarding workload.

Maintain records of client or company CAD standards.

Provide quality feedback on work.

Assist in the QA/QC process.

Facilitate successful handoffs with overseas team members.

REQUIREMENTS

A High School Diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant Civil experience

OR an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant Civil experience

OR a non‑Engineering Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant Civil experience

Basic understanding of design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads, SmartPlant, ArcGIS/ArcPro, and Excel to develop design deliverables.

Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.

Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.

Basic knowledge in Alignment Sheets, Transmission Mains, Stations, design, calculations and design systems.

Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.

Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi‑discipline project team.

Experience working with overseas team members is a big plus.
