District PEIMS and Data Specialist

Primary Purpose Under the direct supervision of the PEIMS Coordinator, collect and disseminate public information request records, assist in the collection and reporting of the District’s Student Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) and Texas Student Data System (TSDS) submissions, while providing clerical assistance for the effective operations and facilitation of student data and record operations.
Major Responsibilities
Maintain, organize, and update physical and digital records while ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) prescribed format to the education service center (ESC) for processing.
Receive PEIMS‑related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy; distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
Assist in providing reports used by campuses to monitor PEIMS data.
Assist with student enrollment.
Assist the PEIMS Coordinator in all PEIMS submissions to meet deadlines.
Facilitate the completion of Public Information Act requests.
Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification)
High school diploma or GED plus 3 years of clerical experience.
Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information.
Advanced Microsoft 365 and/or Google Application experience.
Skills in computer operations, including data entry, spreadsheet, and editing.
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and self‑motivated; ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Compliance with state and district policies, procedures, and federal laws and regulations.
Working Conditions Use of standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and twisting; repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (over 45 pounds); specific vision abilities required; may work prolonged or irregular hours; work with frequent interruptions; and maintain emotional control under stress.
