Overview
We are seeking an
AV Engineer 3
to join our
Security and Electronic Systems (SES)
business unit. As part of the
(SES)
Strategic Business Unit, you will work with a dynamic team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.
Responsibilities
Design, install, configure, integrate, program, and test complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, video walls, matrix systems, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, document cameras, streaming technologies, and A/V based collaboration technologies).
Design, integrate, and configure audio/video systems with Crestron, AMX, and Extron control systems.
Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support, including collecting and recording detailed operational, functional, and technical requirements, developing project scopes, and providing overall system costing for A/V projects.
Design, integrate, test, and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems, including IP and ISDN networks.
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Develop complex AV control system programming and configuration of AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
Develop and conduct on‑site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems.
Qualifications Clearance/Citizen Type:
Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Applicants must hold an ACTIVE SECRET clearance or be able to obtain an INTERIM SECRET clearance within 60 days of the start date. Applicants must also have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
BS degree in Engineering or a related discipline with 5+ years progressive experience.
Experience with IT and/or telecommunications projects.
Certified Crestron and AMX Programmer preferred.
Demonstrated experience designing and programming Jupiter, Extron, Tandberg, Polycom, Crestron, Lutron, and corresponding hardware and software infrastructure.
Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V, and electrical equipment, including related materials and specifications.
Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience performing complex design/build and conceptual design practices.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Solid Microsoft Office skills; Visio skills required, AutoCAD a plus.
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate directly with executive leadership.
Solid problem‑solving and consultative skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening after offer is extended.
Must have a valid passport.
Experience in the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and engineering of videoconferencing and integrated A/V technologies.
Demonstrated experience developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects.
Demonstrated experience performing technical cross‑training/coaching of junior colleagues.
Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated time‑management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
