Position Summary We are seeking a talented and forward-thinking Staff, Design Strategist to join our team. This role requires a UX designer or UX researcher with a strategic mindset, capable of translating complex business challenges into actionable design solutions. You will lead the ideation and exploration of new product directions, ensuring they align with organizational goals and user needs within a B2B environment.
Position Responsibilities
Conceptualize, document, visualize and develop ideas for B2B experience and products and take them from early development to shippable
Work on experience, products and features in close collaboration with other stakeholders like researchers, product managers and engineers
Drive the ideation and exploration of new product and creative ideas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Know an abundance of secondary research sources (visual, trend, tech, etc.), quickly immerse in a range of topics, and translate findings into a unique point of view on where business should go to (and why)
Expected to lead projects and engage with a variety of stakeholders to get input and assess options
Articulate design vision through prototyping, scenario modeling, strategic roadmaps, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, etc.
Creating well-structured, strategic, and inspiring narratives for entire deliverables, and works with the rest of the team to support the narrative
Conduct ideation for concept development, and lead brainstorms with teammates
Confidently engage with lab heads and other stakeholders to socialize concepts, understand feasibility, and gather requirements
Possess outstanding visual (image finding, designing visual information), written, and spoken communication skills to create compelling presentations that are bold, clear, and captivating
Manage work from end to end as an individual contributor
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree required or Master’s Degree preferred in Design, HCI, Product Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
10+ years of design strategy leadership, with User Research or User Experience as a foundation
Experience in identifying emerging opportunities and delivering via new products or services
A clear understanding of user-centered design processes and proven methodologies for identifying and solving problems
Comfort and experience with research, including, not limited to, use of ethnographic research, market research, interviewing, survey design, data analysis, and project management
Document, visualize results of research, strategy and new ideas, high fidelity user scenarios
Storytelling skills and the ability to create compelling narratives using visual tools like PowerPoint, Keynote, and/or Figma
Able to present and defend ideas to the internal team, and help critique and push the rest of the team to better work
Experience and a proven ability to think commercially, strategically, and creatively
Time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to think and act strategically and proactively
Be clear, concise, have transparent communication style, willing to take action, and open to starting a project, idea, concept from scratch
Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge of agile development processes and iterative design practices in a B2B context
Base Pay Range
$192,300 - $264,550 USD
