Responsibilities
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity interests and abilities of students.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects.
Designs engaging lessons and utilizes a variety of instructional techniques and media to enhance learning experiences.
Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required and communicates with parents or guardians as needed.
Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
Collaborates with colleagues to examine student data, plan curriculum and ensure meaningful learning experiences for all students.
Participates in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve professional competence.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Assists in implementing policies and rules governing student life.
Qualifications and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
Massachusetts D.E.S.E. Certification in English (912 required).
SEI Endorsement required.
Salary and Contract Per Unit A Contract (salary range: $52,368 - $99,083)
