Metko, Inc., a local leader and family‑owned business in the custom metal and tank fabrication industry is looking to hire a full‑time Welder for either a 1st or 2nd shift opening in its New Holstein, WI, facility. Salary: $18 to $23/hour. Shift Hours: 1st shift – 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday; 2nd shift – 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday. If hired for the 2nd shift, training for this position may initially be on the 1st shift and then convert to the 2nd shift once competency has been demonstrated. We will consider individuals with all levels of welding experience. Starting pay will be commensurate with experience. We are also a local industry leader in the custom metal fabrication industry that continues to experience sustained growth. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all safety procedures. Conduct pressure testing/leak testing on a variety of new, metal‑fabricated reservoirs (tanks). Identify leaks by submersing reservoirs (tanks) in a water/oil solution. Conduct flushing and grinding activities as needed. Produce quality metal‑fabricated parts according to standards. Keep work area neat and organized. Complete accurate documentation as required. Set up and operate welding equipment as needed. Conduct MIG and TIG spot welding activities as needed on deficient reservoirs (tanks). REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting. Reliable, self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and adept communication skills. Detail‑oriented and possess an eye for quality with the ability to inspect material for quality conformance. Computer literate to be able to log information into a computer system. Possess basic welding skills – preferably MIG and/or TIG welding experience. We are willing to train the right individual as long as he/she has basic welding experience.
